About
Welcome to 1st Gordon Scout Group!
1st Gordon welcomes children between the ages of 11 – 15 for Scouts.
What is Scouts ?
Scouting is a worldwide movement that has shaped the development of youth and adults for over 100 years. Scouts are in every part of our community, and Scouts is the biggest and most successful youth organisation in Australia.
More than 17,000 youth and adult members in NSW from various cultural and religious backgrounds and with varying abilities, enjoy an almost unlimited range of activities.
The aim of Scouting is to encourage the physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual development of young people so they may play a constructive role in society as responsible citizens and as members of their local and international communities.
This aim is achieved through a strong and active program that inspires young people to do their best and to always be prepared.
Meeting Times
Our Scout unit meets every Friday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Most meetings are held at the scout hall located at the end of Cawarra Place in Gordon.
How to join?
We encourage any families who are interested in joining cubs or scouts to come along and join us for one of our meetings, so you can meet the Leaders and the other cubs and scouts. Our meetings are generally held at the Scout Hall, at the end of Cawarra Place in Gordon.
Children can trial 2-3 meetings to see whether they enjoy Scouting before signing up for membership.
If you’d like to arrange a trial, please contact our Group Leader, Richard McCredie at Richard.McCredie@nsw.scouts.com.au.
